Today was a great day! That seems to be happening as of late:) I did many productive things today.
This morning, I stayed in bed until about 10:00. I was out of bed at 8:00, (I only stay in bed later on Saturdays. I usually like to get up early.) but then I got back in and read for two glorious hours- I started the Hunger Games series this week and I am already on book 2. I LOVE, love, love this series. I admit that I was a bit hesitant to start it because of stories I have heard about how the whole series is really scary. I haven’t been disturbed besides the fact that they kill each other. I highly suggest the series though. I am engrossed whenever I read it.-but then I had to get up. So I went downstairs and did 4 miles worth of intervals. Walking, jogging, different steps- 45 minutes in all. Then this afternoon, I got to baking.
I came over to my grandma’s house and baked a cake, cupcakes, and that Shamrock shake I shared with you a few days ago.
I started with the cake. Its a rainbow cake where you mix the different colors of batter together to make a pretty cake.
Here is how it turned out!
The Shamrock shake. I don’t think I let the bananas freeze all the way through. It was really think and almost sticky. Next time, I am going to let the bananas freeze all the way, and add frozen strawberries! Doesn’t that sound good? That was my mom’s suggestions and I think that it would make it icier and much better. I like the thickness that the avocados gave it.
I then used the left over batter from the cake to make some rather unimpressive cupcakes. I haven’t tried them yet but I hope they are good. They don’t look it, but maybe they will taste it.:)
After all of that baking, I used my grandma’s treadmill to get another workout in. I did the 2nd and 3rd days of the challenge. The 2nd day was run 1/2 mile then do 25- 50 air squats, repeat three times. So I did that at a 3.5 mph run. I finished the runs after 26 minutes total. I would say that All together it was 35 minutes. Then day 3 had me do 20 lunges, 10 push ups, repeat 5 times. I think that took me 10- 15 minutes. Of course, I did half push- ups!
So that felt amazing! And then we ordered pizza so it was a full day. This pizza place just came back to town a few months ago. When my mom was a kid, they were still open. But then they left- either ran out of business or just decided to quit…I don’t know. This is my new favorite place to get pizza, but East of Chicago is still very close to my favorite.
This pizza is SO good.
